The Chicago Bears have been know
throughout the years as “monsters of the midway” and the midway
they’ve called home since the 1971 season. This
63,000 seat stadium has been standing since 1921. The
field underwent a total face-lift and it was unveiled
for the 2002 season. The new stadium included a number
of new amenities that didn’t exist in the old Soldier
Field. For starters the New Soldier Field improved its
sideline seating from 40% to 60% and drastically improved
the sight lines of all the seats in the stadium. A state
of the art sound system and two super sized video boards
were also put in which would make it more attractive
to other groups that would like to hold events like concerts
and things of that nature. The south courtyard was put
in so fans could have outdoor concessions in a garden
terrace setting and newer and more bathrooms were installed
all around the field.
The crown jewel of the New Soldier
Field has to be the club level or Cadillac Club Seating
in the stadium. The Cadillac Club features 21” cushioned
seats and access to the three level, climate controlled
Cadillac Club. The Club is a private lounging area
that features three bars, a Pro Shop, two Marches,
specialty drink stations, a sushi bar, numerous concession
stands and TVs displaying the Bears game and all the
other action in the National Football League. The Club
opens two hours prior to kickoff and a pre-game buffet
is available to Cadillac Club season ticket holders
by reservation.
Former name was Municipal Grant Park Stadium from 1924 to 1925. This Stadium was completely rebuild and reopened in 2003.
