The Buffalo Bills circle the wagons at Ralph Wilson
stadium. This 80,024 hosts eight Buffalo Bills games
a year. In 1973 the stadium, then called Rich Stadium,
hosted its first game a year after then owner Ralph Wilson
had made the push to get a bond passed to build it. In
1998 the team changed the name of the stadium to honor
the former owner to Ralph Wilson Stadium. The stadium
has undergone many changes over the years the biggest
renovation coming in 1999. The team created 76 dugout
suites, seat warmers for the club seats and cup holders
for every seat in the stadium. This was a nice compliment
to the Red Zone and Goal Line clubs that are two 500
seat sections that are enclosed in glass and keep the
frigid elements of the Buffalo winter away from patrons.
Ralph Wilson Stadium has been the setting
of many great games none more memorable than the 1992
AFC Wildcard game against the Houston Oilers. The Oilers
were up 35-3 two minutes into the second half when the
Bills mounted a comeback and eventually won the game
in overtime by the score of 41-38.
