The Pittsburgh Steelers call
Heinz Field their home eight times a year when they
play all their home games there. It’s not just the home field of the Steelers
though; it’s also the home of the University of
Pittsburgh Panthers. The Panthers play in the Big East
and will be looking to improve on their 8-5 record of
last year. This year the Panthers will play against big
time schools like Nebraska and Notre Dame.
The Steelers used to play all
of their home games at Three Rivers Stadium which they
shared with Major League Baseball’s Pittsburgh
Pirates for 30 years. The team finally got out of the
stadium and moved into the state of the art Heinz Field
that is in a horseshoe shape. The open side of the
stadium displays the Pittsburgh skyline. This 64,450
seat stadium features a number of amenities like 7,000
club seats and 120 luxury suites. The Steelers also
put in a Steelers Hall of Fame where fans can walk
through and relive all of their favorite Steelers moments.
The Field also showcases the Heinz Field Club, the
Press Box dining area and the Great Coca-Cola Hall
which can be rented out for corporate or leisure usage.
