The Atlanta Falcons call the Georgia Dome their home for eight games a season. The Georgia Dome has played host to a number of events over the years like the Super Bowls XXVIII and XXXIV. It has also hosted the 1996 centennial Olympics, the 2002 NCAA Men’s Final Four, the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl and the THQ World Supercross Series. It was also the home court of the National Basketball League’s Atlanta Hawks for two seasons. The Georgia dome also plays host to a number of different events. The Dome will be the host of the 2004 SEC Championship game in which the SEC East regular season champion will match up against the SEC West regular season champion with a BCS bowl bid likely to be on the line. The Dome will also be the setting of the Corkey Kell Kickoff Classic in which eight high school football teams will face off against each other and hope to start their road to the Georgia state championship. Another event the Georgia Dome has held within it is the Bank of America Football Classic. The Classic is said to be the “Super Bowl of Black College Football.” The proceeds of this game go into programs that have been developed to help urban youths get a leg up on the competition when it comes to getting a good education.
